Abu Dhabi Combat Club better know as ADCC will be taking place this year on October 19th in Beijing, China. This tournament happens once every 2 years and I was lucky enough to attend the 2011 tournament which was held in Nottingham, England. It was a awesome event for hardcore Jiu Jitsu fans and fans of grappling in general. It is a tournament to determine who the best grappler in the world is and there are competitors from all over the world from a whole host of different styles be it wrestling, jiu jitsu, sambo or judo. The competitors have worked very hard to qualify so you will only be seeing the crème de la crème of ground fighters. I particularly am interested in the super fight between Braulio Estima and Andre Galvão. I got to see Braulio beat Ronaldo “Jacaré” Souza in the 2011 superfight and saw Galvão capture gold in both the -88kg division and the absolute division in 2011. Check out the trailer below.
It is sure to be a very exciting match up between 2 of Jiu Jitsu’s elite. I will be looking forward to witnessing this great match up and hope to see some slick displays of Jiu Jitsu.
